Jimi Hendrix - Star on Hollywood Boulevard
I was in LA a few weeks ago to display some of my art at the GBK Productions Gift suite for those attending the MTV Movie Awards. You can see some of my art at my website www.frankmichael-art-design.com. The event was held at The Kress a hot new club that is opening soon that will cater to the elite of Hollywood.
As I was walking back I came across Jimi Hendrix’s star on Hollywood Boulevard. It was an unexpected and odd surprise. His star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (at 6627 Hollywood Blvd.) was dedicated in 1994. Hendrix sought to transcend and include his musical origins and influence of blues legends such as B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Albert King, and T-Bone Walker and contemporary rock stylists such as Pete Townshend, through the fusion of “earth”, a blues, jazz, or funk driven rhythm accompaniment, with “space”, the high-pitched psychedelic sounds created by his guitar improvisations.
